Kuching - Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd (SSSB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Master Tec Group Berhad (Master Tec), a premier player in the manufacturing and distribution of power, control and instrumentation cables to establish a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening its presence in Borneo. This marks Master Tec’s maiden entry into the Sarawak market, positioning the Group to support the region’s growing energy and infrastructure ambitions. The MoU signing ceremony, held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Sarawak on 15th July 2025, was witnessed by Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability of Sarawak, YB Datuk (Dr.) Haji Hazland Abang Hipni.
The collaboration entails the distribution of a full range of cables, including power, control, instrumentation, and fibre optic cables across the utility, telecommunications, oil and gas, infrastructure, and both commercial and non-commercial sectors in Borneo. The collaboration will allow Master Tec to tap into SSSB’s local expertise and ecosystem, bringing high-quality, mission-critical cable products closer to end users across the region.
This MoU will also allow SSSB and Master Tec to further explore the establishment of a full-fledged cable manufacturing facility in Sarawak. The proposed facility will serve as a strategic hub to produce cables tailored to the regional market, enabling greater supply chain localisation and operational efficiency. Both parties will jointly conduct a feasibility study and engage with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies to support the development.
SSSB is an investment holding company incorporated in 2010, specialising in storage facilities in Sarawak. The company owns and operates two out of three petroleum storage terminals in the state, with operations in Kuching and Tanjung Manis. Its activities span from storage and terminal management for petroleum, gas, and renewable energy products, to development of port operations and promotion of light industrial activities.
Mr. Tee Kok Hwa, Chief Executive Officer of Master Tec Group commented, “This MoU marks a key milestone in strengthening Master Tec’s presence in Sarawak, reinforcing our long-standing involvement in the Borneo market and supporting the region’s expanding energy and telecommunication needs. We are proud to partner with SSSB, a respected name in Sarawak’s energy and logistics landscape. This collaboration will allow us to deliver high-quality cable products to mission-critical sectors across Borneo
Dato Haji Jefri Ahmad Tambi, Group Managing Director of SSSB, added, “We are excited to collaborate with Master Tec to support Sarawak’s energy transition and industrial development. By combining Master Tec’s technical expertise with our local footprint, we are confident this collaboration will generate strong synergies and bring long-term value to the state and its stakeholders.”
This collaboration supports Sarawak’s broader industrial and energy aspirations, and represents another step in SSSB’s ongoing commitment to facilitating growth, investment, and innovation across the region.
