SENARI SYNERGY AND PMINT JOINT FORCES TO DRIVE SUSTAINABLE ENERGY GROWTH IN TERENGGANU

Kuala Lumpur - In a landmark move to strengthen inter-state collaboration, Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd (SSSB) and Perbadanan Memajukan Iktisad Negeri Terengganu (PMINT) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities in energy and power generation within Terengganu.

The MoU was signed by Dato Haji Jefri Bin Ahmad Tambi , Group Managing Director of Senari Synergy and Dato’ Haji Wan Adnan Bin Wan Derahman , Chief Executive Officer of PMINT. The ceremony was witnessed by the Menteri Besar of Terengganu and Chairman of PMINT,YAB Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Bin Mokhtar , and Chairman of Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz Bin Dato Haji Husain.

This partnership underscores the spirit of cooperation between Sarawak and Terengganu in advancing Malaysia’s energy transformation agenda under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). It reflects a strong collaboration between the two states in accelerating the development of sustainable energy solutions, downstream value creation, and human capital growth.

The collaboration also demonstrates Sarawak’s commitment to sharing its energy expertise and successful development models, while supporting Terengganu in realising its industrial and clean energy aspirations in creating a win-win pathway for both states

YAB Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri said the collaboration is expected to generate new economic opportunities for Terengganu, particularly in creating jobs for local talent. He added, “We hope this partnership will open up more employment opportunities, including a target of around 1,000 jobs for the people of Terengganu. Our priority is to ensure that the local communities benefit directly from the development of a sustainable and future-ready energy industry” .

YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz remarked,“Sarawak has benefited greatly from its journey in developing energy infrastructure and industrial ecosystems. We are proud to share this experience with our partners in Terengganu. Not as a transfer, but as an exchange of strengths and ideas. This collaboration is a symbol of how Malaysians states can uplift one another while driving the nation towards global energy excellence” .

The MoU marks the beginning of joint initiatives in energy generation, renewable energy development, infrastructure enhancement, and investment facilitation, with both parties committed to supporting Malaysia’s transition toward a low-carbon, high value economy.

Through this strategic partnership, Sarawak and Terengganu reaffirm their shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and national progress, setting a strong example of how state-to-state cooperation can power Malaysia’s sustainable energy future.
